> Departure Lounge <

I'm at Laguardia airport waiting for my flight to Buffalo - got a 3 week tour starting now, I'm just going to try to chill out in Buffalo until the gig on Friday - never been there before, might go and check out Niagara Falls. Have had a really difficult few days with some personal stuff - I'll leave it at that, I don't believe in putting that type of thing up online. Anyway, looking forward to the tour, I'm sure the gigs will turn out well, and I guess the best time to think about things is in the ambience of airports and hotels.

> Buff A Low <

Dinner for one at the hotel...

Greetings from Buffalo, NY. Been here for a few days, the gig is tonight. Had buffalo wings for lunch with the promoter, Brian and his assistant Erin. Went out to Niagara Falls this afternoon. I took my video camera so got some nice shots of the mighty waterfall bizniz. No superman there though. But I did film a very strange Indian man wandering around in a balaclava, perhaps hovvering in case of an opportunity to push someone over the edge without being spotted. Perhaps not. Had a nice quiet BBQ at Brian's house the day I got in, met his family and 2 bizzaro dogs, Nepolian (sp?) and Madeline - french bulldogs, but they snorted like piglets and got very excited when you gave them cheese. Generally just been trying to get out and do things and be around a lot of people so I don't get too mopey. Some movie with Adam Sandler and Drew Barrimore, where she loses her memory every day and they keep falling in love was on yesterday before I left the hotel room - so I watched it and did lots of crunches and yoga-type excercises.

Little Frenchie Pig/Dog Friend

People at the "Thursday in the Park" live band thing they put on every Thursday here, some random generic radio-friendly rock band was playing, lots of poeple were there drinking beer and being equally generic. It was a laugh though, I ended up going round with the guys and giving out flyers for the event tonight - a la Party Monster, but with my best English accent to tempt people.

> Airport Breakfasts etc <

For the next 3 weeks I will be mostly having a starbucks quad-spresso (and have to explain to them what that is) some OJ and a dubious sandwich for breakfast, in various airports, for breakfast. I will submit reports of international quad-spresso strength, taste and effect as we go on.

Am in Alabama right now, the gig in Montreal on Saturday was good, but a late one, and traveling down here was a bit of a mission yesterday - had a layover in Detroit (2nd day running) which I'm sure has the longest terminal in the universe - it just seems to go on and on and on and on. Nice for a stroll though. There's a cool tunnel walkway like in Chicago with flashing lights and funny ambient sounds inbetween terminals too.

The gigs so far have been great, I've had so much on my mind, trying to work out how I feel about breaking up, and its pretty harsh dealing with that type of stuff when you are on your own half way across the world away from your friends and stuff. The promoters so far have been lovely though, and been really nice to hang out with - I went to Niagara falls which was cool - oh and met Chloe - the fabulous baby of Buffalo:

Been reading a lot, finished the Ben Elton Book i was on "This other Eden" - as usual, very good. I think I'm going to start on a book I have about Andy Warhol next. Been taking in the mad ambient airport vibes a lot too, peaceful I guess, arg, but Detroit was way hot yesterday, and I swear there were bugs or something buzzing around me. Or maybe I was just hallucinating from the coffeebeans...

It's raining in Alabama right now, I'm stuck here for a couple of days, but I guess I can get some work done, and I think theres a gym and a pool here, so I'll go and work out a bit... Kandy & Flip, the promoters here are fab guys, I think we're going to a comedy store tonight. I haven't been to one of those for ages, and this is a kinda redneck place, so I'm interested to see how it goes. I konw I'll get the mega-hekkles about my hair - will have to think up some decent comebacks, although I'm told its wise to not heckle back, seeing as they are pros and I'm not. I've jsut been sitting in the hotel this afternoon, trying to take it easy... It's funny, these tours flip flop from mega buzz excitement and squillions of people all trying to chat to me and loud music and mental stuff going on, to absolute calm and dead-time.

> Hello Texas <

Travelled to McAllen, TX today. Read 1/2 of a new Brett Easton Ellis Book "The Informers" - very similar to his other stuff but still bery good. People on lots of Valium etc drifting about being wierd and having crises. Probably not the best choice of book for me to be reading right now. Don't want to have to go and visit the Sea Lions in SF again like after I read American Psycho.

Misbehaving kids behind me kicking my seat and messing with the table thing so it kept smacking my chair on both the flights today, from Huntsville to Houston, then Houston to McAllen. Annoying. I didn't complain though. Had 3 QuadEspressos.

Kandy and Flip, the promoters were very nice guys, we played a lot of pool, went to a comedy night in a sports bar, and I got incredibly drunk and bogarted the kareoke afterwards and did "Ghostbusters", "U Spin me right round", a Flock of Seagulls song, and "Tainted Love". I'm told it went down well, but I really can't remember. This was deep south Alabama bizniz, I think everyone else was doing rather serious country songs, while sitting on a barstool looking pensive. I was doing 80s dances and falling over apparently. Not sure what they would have made of me, but I'm glad I was too drunk to notice.

Went back there to play pool the following afternoon and saw some waitress get totally drunk and/or methed/coked up and then get fired. She kept on drinking people's beers when they went to the bathroom, and ordering beers for non-existent customers and taking them into the bathroom and drinking them herself - I even saw her persuade some guy to buy her 2 massive vodkas and take them out the back patio as if they were for him, but she sneaked out there, met him and necked them, then came back in. I haven't seen anyone that seriously messed up in a long time. And I was no-where near that bolloxed the night before - before you ask...

Anyway, I'm in McAllen now, a little town right in the South of Texas, almost Mexico actually - nipped out quickly to check out a bar tonight, but my gig is actually 2moro, hopefully it'll be a good one, the guys here seem to know their stuff, and the flyer is really good, so I think it'll be a monster. I'm holding out for some good weather 2moro, I need a calm day by a pool and hopefully some sun, might sort me out a bit.

> Don't Mess with TX <

Greetings from Dallas everybody. Just got back to the hotel, had lunch, now gona try to sleep a bit before the gig - my flight out 2moro is dead early so I need to store up the poweRrr. last night was really good - kinda reminded me of "from dusk till dawn" - I played in a (big) sports bar in McAllen, right in the south of Texas, by the mexican border - it was a really good gig, nice and busy and lots of enthusiastic people... And I don't think I've ever been flashed as much ever, so ladies of McAllen, I salute you... Haven't looked at the video yet but I have a feeling its pretty scandalous... Oh, and before you scan down I should warn you there is some scandal below.... Am playing in Dallas tonight, its a big 80s themed party so i think its gonna be good... See ya there!

My outfit last night - and a new Press Photo into the bargain...

Random pictures from the party...

> Pics from the last few days <

I'm in Salt Lake City right now, been sitting in the hotel all afternoon getting over a monster hangover. The gig last night was dead - a shame indeed - it was the last day of gay pride weekend, think everyone was already drunk and partied out. These pics were from McAllen and Dallas TX - excellent gigs, people really dressed up 80s and had a great time. Still feeling kinda low though, its strange all this yo-yoing between crazy clubs, then uber-solitary hotel rooms and stuff. Character forming though... Oh, and the Michael Jackson verdict too - I did a moonwalk in his honour to celebrate... Anyway, here's the pics - I'm off to Seattle 2moro - heard its a good party so should be fun...

> Things I have seen so far since the weekend <

Look at these:

Temporary Peace in McAllen, TX (of all places...)

Boring Pseudo-hell hotel in Salt lake, watching the Michael Jackson verdict, eating a banana (in his honour) and draining more coffee from the coffee teabag thing than it's designed for but I'm too lazy..

Sign at Salt Lake airport that says "one in 5 8th graders have been drunk" - next to the sign saying "don't let your kids play on the carousel. Slightly amuzing, at least after a retardedly long flight and inane people surrounding you.

The first ever STARBUCKS eVVar! In Seattle! THE FIRST EVER STARBUCKS IN THE UNIVERSE. They made me a nice quadspresso, but it was blown away by the one from the airport the day after, so strong even I couldnt drink it all. Pure CoffeeOIL> AIAIAYAYAYAL>yopnks.

More StarbuKsz

Breakfast supplies in TX, I think...

Some manniquinz overseeing the Seattle Starbcucks area. Fabulous. I wholehearteldy agree.

More from inside StarBucks. Sorry, I just like coffee and it's a big deal for me to have been there...

A gun shop in Salt Lake City. Home of the uber moRmoNiteZ.

Huge "Drug" store in Edmonton in Canada where i am right now. not the drug store, the place. erG,.

Flamingos in the "biggest mall in the world" here in Edmonton in Canada - they had sea lions, and an aquarium and submarines too. BUT NO HOT PINK TIES! ANYWHERE!!! WHY!!!??

Flyer in the club in CaNadia

Me + Moose

The Scart Ridge. Observe his brain.

With a Mounty.

At a club, with John Dogweed tweedling away in the distance.

My hotel room tonight. Nice.
